I've been away too long~
I can't believe that I haven't posted anything in a year! Shame on me! After the Secret Pal online thing was over, I just did not find the time to write. That's no excuse, I know. I will try to do better. My newest grandson is almost 1 year old, now and I am expecting a granddaughter near the end of this month! Time does fly.....
What am I working on now? I've made lots of girly things for the new baby. I just finished a cute sweater from Zephyr Style. Currently on my needles is a pair of soft, fuzzy ballerina style baby booties in pink, of course. I'm thinking of making some finger puppets for the boys for Easter next.
My youngest son, Jared, is coming home for a visit from Chicago, where he runs the Benefit Boutique on Armitage. I haven't seen him for 7 months, so I can't wait!

Spinning Myself Silly
I am so thrilled! You all know that I got a spinning wheel for Christmas and haven't quite been able to master it yet. Well, my daughter in law called me this morning and let me know that there was an article in our local newspaper section I needed to read. Lo and behold! Right here in a neighboring community a lady has opened a "Sheep to Shawl" shop with spinning wheels, looms, yarn, roving, everything a knitter, spinner, or weaver might need! I called her immediately and she was so nice and helpful and she teaches spinning classes! So what I guess I'm saying is that there IS hope for me! Hallelujah!

Knitaddict
My computer at home is still not working properly, so I am still having to blog at work...meaning this will be kinda short and sweet. My projects for right now? I'm kind of going baby crazy with the birth of my new grandson only 3 months away. I just finished a soft yellow sweater with a basketweave pattern to it and booties to match, a cute bunny blanket snuggle toy out of velvet spun yarn, and now I'm doing my own design of a blanket, spelling out his name in blocks and doing the other blocks in complimentary colors in different pattern stitches.
My friend Shelia and I are planning a trip to Georgia to a Sewing/Quilting/Knitting Expo in Duluth in March. It is a 3 day affair. I hope I can get away because it sounds absolutely wonderful. Experts like Annie Modesitt and Leigh Radford will be there teaching the classes! Sounds like knitter's paradise to me!

Happy New Year!
It's 2007! Can you believe it, I'm just getting used to writing 2006, as usual. I hope everyone out there had a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year. Guess what I got for Christmas? No..no....no....NO! Can't guess? A spinning wheel!!! It is beautiful! It's a Kromski wheel, made in Poland and I love it. I haven't mastered spinning on it as of yet. It is not as easy as it looks, but I'm working on it. I can spin on a drop spindle, but a wheel is much different. I have the rest of my life to practice (now watch me get hit by a truck tomorrow!). My family and Santa is always better to me than I deserve. Hope your was too! I'll write more later!

Merry Christmas!
I hope this finds everyone out there in the knitting world wonderful and all caught up on their knitting for Christmas gift giving. I'm not really, but I'm not going to push myself. I can give after Christmas knitted goodies just as well, I think. My secret pal got her gift yesterday and she sounded like she loved it! I sure hope so. My heart is in it as I buy for her, I just want to please another knitter as I know I would be. I will be on be on vacation from work all next week, so I will write when I get back - God bless you all and I hope Santa is good to everyone!

Can you say "Yarn-a-holic?"
I had to clean my knitting room this weekend...it was out of control! Too many skeins and not enough room to store them. My DH was beginning to get antsy with me about it. So a major redo was in order. It took me 3 1/2 hours, but it looks great now and every skein is in its place just waiting for it's own little project. I rearranged the furniture in my knitting room and actually cleaned out (insert gulp here) some of my stash that I felt I would never use, some odds and ends of too tangled to use stuff, that kind of thing. The main thing I HAD to do was find a place to store the approximately 67 or so new skeins of yarn that I purchased last week at the big Hobby Lobby sale! Gotta find harmony and balance. Keep the knitting room looking wonderful to make DH happy and be able to add a new skein or two occasionally or a new knitting book or two. Feng shui for knitters.....
